Mark B. Christensen
At age 16 Mark began touring in the mid-west doing his own progressive modern-rock material, and at age 19 began his production career. After a three-year residency in England, during which he toured briefly with acts such as The Waterboys and The Clash as well as producing numerous independent records, he returned to New York City. While working as a line producer at Soundtrack City, he self-produced a demo which ultimately resulted in a record deal (generating another round of tours, this time with the likes of Radiohead, The Wallflowers and The Gin Blossoms). While the demo was being shopped, Mark opened one of the first upscale restaurants in N. Y.'s East Village. From the royalty advance and the ultimate sale of the restaurant, he set his sights on creating a music business of freelance production, engineering and manufacturing that would support his music career and that of others. Based on this principle Engine Room Audio was born. Since that time, Mark has become one of New York's highly regarded Mastering Engineers, working with hundreds of artists, labels and major corporations.
